About Z Spice Kitchen
Spice Kitchen is a family-owned artisanal spice and tea company run by mother and son team Sanjay & Shashi Aggarwal (aka Mamma Spice & Baby Spice!). Sanjay and Shashi share a common goal: to honour their Indian heritage and make their ancestors proud. That they can inspire so many to create, authentic dishes in the process is a bonus!
What started as a discussion over the kitchen table on Christmas Day 2012, Spice Kitchen has developed into a thriving small business that has never lost touch with its roots. And Shashi's expertise and knowledge with spices and spice blends are the foundation on which everything else is built. Originally hailing from Kenya, Shashi grew up in India and has now lived in the UK for over 30 years. She can draw on over 50 years of cookery experience and is an oracle when it comes to using spices.
Coming to the present day, Spice Kitchen now specialises in lovingly producing small-batch, freshly ground spice blends and tea blends. They source the freshest raw spices from around the world, and then hand-blend, hand-roast and hand-grind them to authentic recipes.
They are proud to do things the old-fashioned way. Their spices are loved by our customers, and they are often told that they have never smelt anything like them!
Spice kitchen is well known for their spice tins, known in India as 'Masala Dabba's'. These shiny stainless-steel tins imported from India contain 7 separate containers for easy access to the myriad of spices that you will need to create perfectly blended dishes. There are various collections including the popular Indian set, Middle Eastern & African set, World set, Chilli set and Gin Botanicals Set!
Along with running a thriving business, we support several charities including FRANK Water who build sustainable water projects in India and Nepal and Find Your Feet who help families in Asia and Africa build a future free from poverty and hunger.
