Asquith was founded by Alice Asquith in 2002. Alice was working for crime writer Lynda La Plante in the late 90s. To switch off and cope with the pressures of a busy career Alice discovered yoga. But she became frustrated by the synthetic sportswear available for her yoga practice; in bright shades and with brash logos - it didn’t seem right for yoga. So, Alice gave up her career in television and decided to launch her own activewear label, based on soft styling, natural colours and fabrics. Asquith was born.
With a family history of designing clothes in beautiful fabrics, from the very beginning, it was crucial to Alice that Asquith was ethically made in the best quality, eco-friendly fabrics that were as soft as they were hardwearing.
Alice wanted to combine her love of fabrics and design with two other passions: yoga and Pilates and to create elegant, naturally breathable activewear in a way that benefited people and minimised the impact on the environment.
Asquith’s mission hasn’t changed 19 years later. Alice creates collections that make women feel wonderful. Not just how you feel wearing our super soft clothes, but knowing we promise to put people and the planet first.
At the heart of their commitment to protecting the planet are their natural fabrics. The core fabrics are bamboo, organic cotton and Bambor®, their unique natural performance fabric. They feel amazingly soft against your skin, are breathable and very comfortable to wear. They are also sustainable and durable – better for you and the environment. The collections are responsibly made in a lovely, GOTS certified factory in sunny, southern Turkey.
The collections are designed with versatility and comfort in mind. Asquith want their clothes to be something that you reach for time and time again. The classic styles will mix and match with the rest of your wardrobe and take you effortlessly from street to studio to sofa.
