Product Details
These hats are hand-woven in Ecuador and hand finished in the UK.
Note: This hat looks great aged - no two hats will be exactly the same. Frays, holes and color may change over time, giving both you and your hat added charm and character.
Available in two sizes:
Small / Med | 56-58cm
Med / Large | 57-59cm
Brim approx 9-10cm / 3.5 inches.
Crown height approx 10 cm / 4 inches.
Please note these hats are not rollable hats but can be lightly folded in a suitcase or bag.
A great packing tip is to pack the crown tightly with soft items, and then place face down in between some clothes in your suitcase (make a well) and then pack some items flat over the brim to keep it from moving in your suitcase.
If your hat mis-shapes it can be lightly ironed in between a towel with some steam to reshape the brim (only).
This is a Genuine Panama Hat woven in Ecuador and made by hand in a Bedfordshire factory using traditional hat making machines.

About The Panama Hat Company
FAMILY BUSINESS: FAIR TRADE: ETHICAL FASHION: COMMUNITY SPIRIT: SKILLED CRAFTSPEOPLE: CHARITY
The Panama Hat Company are a UK manufacturer making genuine panamas. Mum Jenny started the business 35 years ago and made friends with panama lover Tom Joule, Joules founder, selling Panamas together at the summer market circuit. Daughter Mavi joined the business 3 years ago after leaving a Multinational career. For them panamas are a “functional work of art”, woven by one of 500 weavers in Ecuador who are self-employed and fairly paid for their work. They make their panamas in the home of Hats (Luton) in an old Victorian straw plaiting factory where they have partnered with the local council to support regeneration in the city centre providing job opportunities and apprenticeships. The panamas are made entirely by hand using the oldest hat making techniques where our team of skilled craftspeople take the hat through 10 processes to give you a finished genuine panama woven in Ecuador Made in England.
They love their panamas and so will you!
